Since I felt the joy of the eternal party that is NYC,
I have kept it in my mind and my soul.
The extraordinary minds and souls that walk your streets,
drive your roads and bike your sidewalks...
they are all part of me.
I am home in your embrace
and even more in summer,
remembering that June 29 when I arrived for the first time
to a sweaty and steamy Upper East side
matchbox-size apartment,
that unlocked the best years of my life.
I wish I could remember every detail because I can still smell the DD,
hear the ambulances and the salsa music.
